The head shot. It’s the single most important marketing tool for professional people, and it’s amazing how many people do it wrong just to cut a few corners.

It’stime to take it more seriously. When that little head shot jpeg pops up on a LinkedIn page or on a business website, you want your future employer/customer to say, “Yes, bring that person in!”

Whenever I photograph a business owner or an employee the comfort level trumps everything. I generally speak with them for 15-20 minutes because people and their backgrounds generally fascinate me. So when they feel comfortable and carefree, that’s when you get the most natural and unexpected expressions.

If you want people to take you seriously, you must have a good, high quality, killer head shot. Not an iPhone pic, not a Facebook photo of you taken by a friend. Stand out of the crowd; reward yourself in getting an outstanding image for all social media.
